Chamber member Of The Week: Moonbeam Country Store

March 1, 2019

Let us introduce: Moonbeam Country Store

Rene and Lucie Labelle owned the store since 1991 and this month the ownership transferred to longtime employee France Lebel, who has been working at the store for seven years.

Ms Lebel was born and raised in Kapuskasing and since the age of 13 has worked in the retail world. She said it was a dream of hers to have her own business and is grateful to the Labelle's for all their support and guidance over the years.

She said a sales rep once told her that when taking over a business, “keep it 80% original and 20% yourself”, and that is what she intends on doing. She will be keeping the same care and attention given to the customers while bringing a little “France’s Touch” to it all.

Moonbeam Country Store sells clothing and accessories for all ages and carries industrial workwear such as safety clothing and boots. They carry many popular brands such as Under Armour, Matt and Nat, The North Face, Columbia, Ten Tree, Hurley, Dex, Pink Martini, Point Zero, Silver Jeans, Buffalo Jeans, Tough Duck, Work King, Big Bill.  Royer, STC, and Baffin safety boots.

As for some fun facts, Ms Lebel said she has the biggest fear of “barbeaus” (spruce bugs) and tells everyone they need to try dill pickle popcorn seasoning in your Kraft Dinner and vinegar on corn on the cob.
